Chartered Accountant

The purpose of this Chartered Accountant role is to develop annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts and develop and implement financial policies.

The role is based on-site in Bellville, Western Cape. Everyone is expected to pull their weight, and everyone is valued for it. The business is growing, and capable people grow with it. The role carries deadline-driven reporting cycles, particularly around month-end and year-end.

• Lead and manage the external audit process, preparing audit files, responding to queries, and ensuring timely sign-off of financial statements.
• Manage cash flow and working capital effectively, including preparing cash flow forecasts and managing banking relationships.
• Oversee preparation and presentation of accurate monthly management accounts, financial statements, and board reports.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and modelling to support business cases for capital investments, acquisitions, and new ventures.
• Mentor and develop finance team members, conducting performance reviews, identifying training needs, and fostering continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the board on financial performance, risk, and growth opportunities.
• Develop annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts, monitoring performance and providing variance analysis with detailed commentary.

• For credit roles, thorough understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies and experience with credit rating models.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen to understand the broader context of financial decisions.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• A professional accounting or finance qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, CFA, ACCA, or an equivalent recognised designation.
• A minimum of five to seven years of progressive experience in financial management, investment analysis, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis using Microsoft Excel including building integrated three-statement models.
