Office Cleaner

A reputable established business situated in Somerset West, Western Cape wishes to appoint a reliable Office Cleaner. You will need a level head, sound judgement, and a strong sense of ownership.

The role is based on-site and suits someone living within commuting distance.

• Operate industrial cleaning machinery such as floor polishers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers safely per training guidelines.
• Manage and safely store all cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring hazardous substances are labelled and locked away when not in use.
• Vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture thoroughly, spot-clean stains as they occur, and arrange for periodic deep cleaning.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards such as broken fixtures, leaking taps, or slippery floors to the supervisor promptly.
• Clean and sanitise all bathroom facilities including toilets, urinals, basins, and mirrors, and replenish soap and paper supplies.

• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing time effectively to complete all tasks within the shift.
• A strong attention to detail to ensure all areas are cleaned thoroughly and no task is overlooked or left incomplete.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods while performing cleaning duties.
• Good communication skills to report issues to supervisors and interact politely with clients or members of the public.
• A clear criminal record is often required for positions at schools, healthcare facilities, or secure commercial premises.
• Willingness to work flexible hours which may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends depending on operational needs.
