Job Description

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our operations team in Ermelo. The role would suit someone who is organised, methodical, and reliable under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies, consumables, and pharmaceuticals, placing orders timeously to prevent stock-outs.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Provide patient education and counselling regarding medications, treatment plans, rehabilitation exercises, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Accurately dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications, checking for drug interactions, contraindications, and appropriate dosages.
  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations including X-rays, ultrasound scans, or CT scans as ordered by referring practitioners.
  • Provide direct patient care and clinical services in accordance with professional scope of practice, ethical guidelines, and protocols.
  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control protocols including hand hygiene, PPE use, and instrument sterilisation.
Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when dispensing medication, performing tests, or recording information.
  • A minimum of two to three years of clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, or diagnostic centre.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to providing compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic computer literacy for maintaining electronic patient records, scheduling appointments, and practice management software.
  • A recognised qualification in the relevant healthcare discipline from an accredited South African training institution.
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa or South African Pharmacy Council as applicable.
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical protocols, infection control standards, and the ethical and legal framework of healthcare.
