Responsibilities
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot medical and laboratory equipment, reporting malfunctions to service providers promptly.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies, consumables, and pharmaceuticals, placing orders timeously to prevent stock-outs.
  • Adhere strictly to infection prevention and control protocols including hand hygiene, PPE use, and instrument sterilisation.
  • Provide direct patient care and clinical services in accordance with professional scope of practice, ethical guidelines, and protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records including medical history, treatment notes, investigation results, and discharge summaries.
  • Provide patient education and counselling regarding medications, treatment plans, rehabilitation exercises, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Process and analyse biological specimens, performing haematology, biochemistry, and microbiology tests to produce reliable results.
Requirements
  • For imaging roles, proficiency in operating equipment and knowledge of radiation safety and protection principles.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to providing compassionate care to patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A minimum of two to three years of clinical experience in a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, or diagnostic centre.
  • Thorough knowledge of clinical protocols, infection control standards, and the ethical and legal framework of healthcare.
  • A recognised qualification in the relevant healthcare discipline from an accredited South African training institution.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when dispensing medication, performing tests, or recording information.
