Job Description

A well-established manufacturing company based in Paarl, Western Cape is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join its team. We need a team player who communicates well and takes responsibility for outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Manage engineering projects from feasibility through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers, technicians, and graduate trainees, providing technical and professional development guidance.
  • Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes for industrial plant and equipment to maximise reliability.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, simulations, and technical specifications for civil, mechanical, electrical, or process systems.
  • Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards, codes of practice, health and safety regulations, and environmental legislation.
  • Conduct technical analyses including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and structural integrity using industry-standard software.
Requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to apply engineering first principles to complex technical challenges.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to produce clear technical reports and present to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software relevant to the discipline such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or MATLAB.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering in the relevant discipline from a university accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across engineering disciplines for integrated project outcomes.
