Job Description

Our client in the logistics company space is seeking a Stock Controller to join their Gqeberha team in Eastern Cape. The position rewards consistency, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

The role operates within tight delivery windows and requires flexibility around shift times.

Responsibilities
  • Pick and pack customer orders accurately according to pick lists and packing slips, ensuring correct items and quantities are dispatched.
  • Load delivery vehicles ensuring goods are stacked securely and weight is distributed evenly to prevent shifting during transit.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by labelling parcels, generating waybills, and organising items for efficient collection by transport companies.
  • Adhere to all workplace health and safety policies including wearing prescribed PPE and following safe manual handling procedures.
  • Organise the warehouse layout to ensure fast-moving lines are easily accessible and goods are stored in their designated locations.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies for investigation.
  • Receive incoming deliveries by checking quantities against purchase orders and delivery notes, reporting any discrepancies or damage immediately.
Requirements
  • Reliable and punctual with ability to work shifts including early mornings, late afternoons, and weekends as required.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills to read pick lists, count stock, and complete delivery documentation accurately.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, or distribution environment is advantageous.
  • Physical fitness to stand, walk, lift, and carry items for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a warehouse team.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment; forklift licence is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when picking, packing, and checking orders to avoid errors and customer complaints.

Grade 10 with Warehouse Experience
