Machine Operator

The purpose of this Machine Operator role is to set up workstations with required materials and move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods between workstations.

The position is located in Benoni, Gauteng. You will join a close-knit team that values reliability and mutual respect. Longer term, there is a clear path for those who show commitment. Shift work and overtime may be required to meet production schedules.

• Report any equipment malfunctions, quality defects, or safety hazards to the shift supervisor immediately to prevent injuries and production delays.
• Set up workstations with required materials, tools, and components at the start of each shift to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Perform in-process quality checks by inspecting products for defects, dimensional accuracy, and visual appearance at specified intervals.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workstation by cleaning machinery, disposing of waste, and returning tools to storage after each shift.
• Assemble products or components on the production line following work instructions, achieving daily output targets while maintaining quality standards.

• Physical fitness and ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and work in a noisy or temperature-controlled environment.
• Willingness to work shifts including night shift, weekends, and public holidays as required by production schedules.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and adhere to standard operating procedures without deviation.
• Basic numeracy and literacy to read work instructions, complete production records, and understand safety signage.
• Good attention to detail to identify product defects and quality issues during in-process checks.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for maintaining production schedules and team efficiency.
• Previous experience in a factory, manufacturing, or production environment is advantageous.
