Security Guard

Hands-on from day one, the Security Guard will supervise and coordinate a team of security officers, monitor CCTV camera feeds in real time from a control room and write detailed and accurate incident reports describing security events for an established business in George, Western Cape.

A strong emphasis is placed on safety, quality, and doing things right the first time. The business promotes from within wherever possible, opening doors over time. It is a busy, practical environment where no two days look quite the same. Suitably qualified candidates are invited to submit their applications.

Normal working hours apply, with occasional flexibility required during busy periods.

• Supervise and coordinate a team of security officers, managing shift rosters and ensuring all posts are adequately staffed.
• Perform regular checks of security equipment including alarms, cameras, radios, and access control systems to ensure functionality.
• Monitor CCTV camera feeds in real time from a control room, identifying and responding to any unusual or suspicious activity.
• Conduct searches of personnel, vehicles, and bags entering or leaving the premises to prevent unauthorised removal of property.
• Write detailed and accurate incident reports describing security events, observations, and actions taken for management review.
• Conduct regular patrols of the assigned premises on foot or by vehicle, checking for security breaches, hazards, and suspicious activity.

• A clear criminal record is mandatory and subject to regular review as per PSIRA requirements.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods, conduct foot patrols, and respond quickly to incidents.
• Grade 12 certificate is preferred; Grade 10 may be acceptable for certain entry-level positions.
• A valid driver's licence is required for armed response and patrol positions.
• A valid PSIRA registration at the appropriate grade level for the position being applied for.
• Good written and verbal communication skills to write reports and interact professionally with clients and the public.
• A minimum of one to two years of experience in the security industry with a proven track record of reliability.
