Yard Worker

The Yard Worker will sort, stack, and organise materials, products, or supplies in designated storage, adhere to all occupational health and safety procedures and wear prescribed and follow a daily task schedule.

The role is based on-site in Paarl, Western Cape. Ongoing training and mentorship are provided to help you reach your potential. You will have the tools, systems, and backing needed to do the job properly. Respect, reliability, and a positive attitude define the workplace. Qualified candidates are encouraged to get their applications in early.

• Perform general manual labour tasks including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Report safety hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance needs to supervisors without delay to prevent accidents.
• Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment, barricades, and signage as required on site.
• Follow a daily task schedule and checklist to ensure all assigned duties are completed to the required standard within the shift.
• Adhere to all occupational health and safety procedures and wear prescribed personal protective equipment at all times.
• Assist skilled tradespeople with construction, installation, and maintenance tasks as directed by the supervisor.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, tenants, and members of the public on work sites.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and complete tasks as directed by supervisors.
• A clean criminal record may be required for positions at secure premises or government buildings.
• Previous experience in a general worker, labourer, or construction assistant role is advantageous but not required.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work hard in all weather conditions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team under supervision.
