Yard Worker

The purpose of this Yard Worker role is to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas and sort, stack, and organise materials, products, or supplies in designated storage.

The role is based in Paarl, Western Cape. The workplace values doing things properly over cutting corners. The role comes with opportunities to learn, upskill, and advance over time. • Sort, stack, and organise materials, products, or supplies in designated storage areas following proper stacking procedures.
• Follow a daily task schedule and checklist to ensure all assigned duties are completed to the required standard within the shift.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, tenants, and members of the public on work sites.
• Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment, barricades, and signage as required on site.
• Adhere to all occupational health and safety procedures and wear prescribed personal protective equipment at all times.
• Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely and in accordance with training and instructions received.
• Report safety hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance needs to supervisors without delay to prevent accidents.

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work hard in all weather conditions.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and complete tasks as directed by supervisors.
• A clean criminal record may be required for positions at secure premises or government buildings.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team under supervision.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays when operational needs demand it.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues at all times.
