General Worker

The purpose of this General Worker role is to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas and follow a daily task schedule.

You will be based at the Saldanha operation in Western Cape. You will pick up new skills on the job and be backed to apply them. Integrity, teamwork, and a customer-first mindset are at the core of how the team works. Suitably qualified candidates are invited to submit their applications.

Normal working hours apply, with occasional flexibility required during busy periods.

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, storage rooms, and external grounds to ensure a safe and organised environment.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients, tenants, and members of the public on work sites.
• Operate basic hand tools and equipment safely and in accordance with training and instructions received.
• Report safety hazards, equipment defects, and maintenance needs to supervisors without delay to prevent accidents.
• Sort, stack, and organise materials, products, or supplies in designated storage areas following proper stacking procedures.
• Perform general manual labour tasks including lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to all occupational health and safety procedures and wear prescribed personal protective equipment at all times.

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors.
• Previous experience in a general worker, labourer, or construction assistant role is advantageous but not required.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and willingness to work hard in all weather conditions.
• A clean criminal record may be required for positions at secure premises or government buildings.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays when operational needs demand it.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team under supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues at all times.
