Job Description

A growing supply chain business based in Cape Town, Western Cape is adding a Warehouse Supervisor to its team. You will be trusted to work independently while contributing to wider team goals.

You will work to daily dispatch targets in a fast-moving distribution environment.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, delivery shortfalls, damaged goods, and returns, implementing corrective actions.
  • Supervise warehouse staff including pickers, packers, and forklift drivers, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation activities including route planning, load consolidation, carrier selection, and delivery scheduling.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatching to meet productivity targets.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs including on-time delivery rates, inventory accuracy, warehouse throughput, and transport costs.
  • Manage vehicle fleet maintenance and servicing schedule, ensuring all vehicles are serviced on time and kept roadworthy.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of South African customs regulations, import and export procedures, and Incoterms for international logistics.
  • For warehouse supervisory roles, experience with material handling equipment including reach trucks and forklifts with valid licences.
  • A minimum of two to four years of experience in logistics, warehousing, transport, or supply chain operations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external providers.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems, transport management systems, or ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
