Responsibilities
  • Manage vehicle fleet maintenance and servicing schedule, ensuring all vehicles are serviced on time and kept roadworthy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, delivery shortfalls, damaged goods, and returns, implementing corrective actions.
  • Plan and coordinate transportation activities including route planning, load consolidation, carrier selection, and delivery scheduling.
  • Ensure all logistics operations comply with health and safety regulations including safe operation of material handling equipment.
  • Supervise warehouse staff including pickers, packers, and forklift drivers, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs agents, and customers to coordinate smooth flow of goods across the supply chain.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatching to meet productivity targets.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's licence is essential; own transport may be required for roles involving site visits or shift work.
  • For warehouse supervisory roles, experience with material handling equipment including reach trucks and forklifts with valid licences.
  • A minimum of two to four years of experience in logistics, warehousing, transport, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Knowledge of South African customs regulations, import and export procedures, and Incoterms for international logistics.
  • A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, transport management, or a related field.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
